Kitchen Changes II

Still working on my kitchen mantle. I think I need to put something above the mounted brackets. If anyone knows what I should call these metal hanging things let me know! I am also trying to decide about window treatments (or mistreatments). Then, I am thinking of painting the brick on the fireplace white or the brick and mantle black.

My super low mantle budget (items found over several years):
*metal wall decor: free from family member
(who received it free when someone stopped loving it)
*white plates: $1 each
*pictures: 25 cents each!
*candles: $2 each new (not the biggest bargain, but they work great)
*"Living Simply" decorative box: about $5 new
*small urns: 39 cents each!
*small pitcher: $1.99
*blueberry pie plate: about $6 new
*Rejoice in the Lord ceramic stepping stone: $1 new
*dust and cobwebs: Free!
Sense of Humor is very important as a parent.
I dusted some after the photos (for any Hazel's out there!!!)

Welcome to my appliance corner. Some day I hope this will be a breakfast nook. Well, it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful, as the Nester says. I would love an orangy terra cotta color for my kitchen walls. I am afraid of wasting money if I hate the paint color.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Obviously people aren't as excited about my pregnancy blog as me and I often wonder if people read or actually care that I gained 1/2 pound, etc. I would admit I probably would have rolled my eyes too if I happened upon it. And I also wonder if people read what I write about my little son. Feels like people forget or think I'm 'over it'. I don't think a Mom who lost a baby at any stage 'gets over it'. I'm glad that you read my ramblings and that my little sons short life touched yours. God has been so good to us through this and we couldn't have gone through what we did without Him. I don't know how people can go through tragedies without Him....no hope...no peace. ANYWAYS, I'm rambling againg but I just wanted to say I REALLY appreciate you taking the minute to write me a note. I pray that you will also continue healing the loss of your baby and I want to say I'm sorry.

Oh, and by the way, I love your pics/decor you have on here! We are currently rearranging/decorating our house and I just posted some new pics... :)
